Great review. We've been pouring Roaring Lion at a couple of my restaurants for a few years now and it's been a real pleasure. It has a fantastic similar-to-red bull taste and my customers actually prefer it over two or three other energy drinks we used to carry.

I agree with the 9 volt battery comparison for that strange aftertaste in Red Bull, but Roaring Lion actually doesnt have that taste and instead comes off with a nice citrusy bite (at least what we have here!). Anyway nice read.

We also manufacture a flavor similar to Red Bull. We've been told that we are the closest there is to RB’s taste and finish with out the bad after taste. This came from the Red Bull reps in our markets, even closer than Roaring Lion says that they are.

As for the Red Bull finish profile, we say it's like sticking a 9 volt battery on your tongue. The flavor profile is considered pungent because of the citric acid and a few other ingredients.

Also, Roaring Lion's ingredients list is not "the same" as Red Bulls even though they state it that way. Next time you talk to them ask them about the lawsuits that they have lost to Red Bull because of their “ballsy’ attitude towards Red Bull

Thanks for allowing me to comment.
