Loud Truck Energy Gummies

Hey CG readers! Check me out on Twitter and MySpace and make me feel loved! :P The Facebook page is coming too soon, and I'm still working on updating the Twitter and MySpace

Loud Truck Energy GummiesWell, what do we have here? The generous folks at Chemical Evolution sent us some awesome products to review, and, well, we plan to review them! The products in the limelight today are Loud Truck Gummies; two different flavors of caffeinated, fruity, gummies!

The first of the two varieties are the citrus blast gummies. The bag is white and orange, features a green dragon, and boasts both no-crash energy and U.S.A pride. Each bag of the citrus blast gummies comes with 9 (the bag claims 9, but I lucked out and got 10!) energy packed gummi bears. Yep, that’s right, they’re gummi bears! One bag contains 32mg of caffeine, 36mg of taurine, 220mg of Vitamin C, and 60 calories. For a pack of 9 (or 10) gummi bears, that’s not bad! Upon opening the bag, there’s a great orangey, citrusy smell. As for the taste, the gummies have a great taste, there’s a hint of orange – they’re not overly powered, and they’re not bitter either. I like these a lot, and for 99 cents, it’s not a bad deal either.

The second bag contains the red blast variety, the stronger, cherry flavored variety of the two. This variety boasts twice the kick – 64mg of caffeine, 72mg of taurine, and 450mg of Vitamin C. The great part is that these are only 99 cents as well, twice the kick for the same price. These are just as good as the other variety, they have a mild cherry taste, and a great cherry aroma as well.

This is a great product, they’re caffeinated gummi bears, what’s not to love? If you want to try them out you can get the citrus blast ones here, or the red blast here.

Maxxed Energy Pop

Maxxed Energy Pop I came across this oddity the other day at a gas station when I was out of town. Being it the first energized lollipop I’ve seen, and being the sucker I am (haha), I couldn’t resist buying it (or making that terrible sucker pun). Maxxed Energy Pops are an “alternative energy source” for anyone that wants convenient energy on the go. Each pop comes in a small cardboard Pringles can type tube with a tabbed top for easy opening. The suckers, manufactured by Charms, LLC, are larger than your average Blow Pop and contain 40mg of caffeine. Maxxed also contains taurine, guarana, panax ginseng, and vitamin B12, putting it at the same level as many other energy products.

Maxxed Energy Pops are colored bright, neon green and come individually wrapped in gold foil. They are a little bitter from the high concentration of caffeine and the lemon-lime flavoring. If you don’t mind the slight sourness of the pop, then you’re good to go. If, on the other hand, you cringe at the thought of anything remotely sour, then I’d move on to something else if I were you. The site claims that Maxxed Pops are “50% larger” than ordinary lollipops, and they’re right in their statement. This thing takes quite a while to finish (without biting it of course) and as I write this, I still haven’t finished it. The point of this product is to provide energy, and I do feel a little more wired since starting this, and the fact that you don’t get all the caffeine at once helps provide a consistent source of caffeine. If you want to check this out for yourself you can go over to the Maxxed Website, but as of right now the site’s a little outdated and glitchy.

FRS Energy: Peach Mango

FRS Low Calorie Peach Energy Drink Today we’ll cover the fourth and final FRS Energy product. The last FRS product is the only one that’s an actual ready to drink energy drink, unlike the other ones. I have to say that the FRS product line is pretty repetitive, as they’re all the same product basically, but in different forms. The FRS Peach Energy has a very nice peach-mango scent, and it contains the same yellow-orange color as the FRS powder and syrup. Of the four products, I have to say this one is my favorite; not only do you not have to prepare it, but it’s the best tasting. The drink has a nice, although somewhat bland, peachy mango flavor to it. It’s not bitter in the least bit, and it doesn’t taste artificial or bitter as it contains mango puree and peach juice. This drink is great for people who need some energy without all of the sugar and artificial flavors of some energy drinks. The Peach Mango only has 25 calories, it’s non-carbonated, and contains the proprietary FRS vitamin blend. Additionally, it contains 48mg of caffeine and while it’s still a smaller amount than most energy products, its a good amount and is a step up from the other FRS products. Overall this drink is pretty good, it packs a nice bit of energy, tastes great and is pretty healthy.

FRS Liquid Concentrate

FRS Healthy Energy Liquid ConcentrateFirst chews, then powdered mixes, now FRS comes in liquid concentrate form. The FRS liquid concentrate mix is like its kin, the powdered mix, in every way except for, well, it’s not a powdered mix. The syrup comes in a 5-serving bottle, and the packaging suggests that you finish the bottle within one month of opening it. Each serving consists of mixing 2oz of the mix with about 6oz of water, much like each powdered packet goes with 6oz of water. The result is an orange flavored, non-carbonated, energy drink perfect for drinking prior to a workout. This low calorie (20 calories per serving) drink tastes like Sunny D, but is a little less sweet, but certainly better for you. Like the rest of the products in the FRS Energy line, the syrup contains the standard FRS mix of various vitamins and quercetin, as well as antioxidants. It tastes great, and while it only has 35mg of caffeine per serving, the liquid concentrate is marketed as more of a health drink than one that will get you wired on caffeine. If you’re looking for a drink to give you the energy and nutrients for a workout, or any other aerobic activity, look no farther. If you want something to wake you up and get you wired though, you may want to look somewhere else.

FRS Powdered Drink Mix

FRS Healthy Energy Powdered Drink Mix Next in the lineup of the FRS Products is the diet orange powdered drink mix. The FRS trial comes with a box of 14 individual packets of the mix, and each packet makes one serving. Each packet of drink mix contains 35mg of caffeine, and they suggest you take 1-2 servings of the drink 30-60 minutes before your workout. While not high in caffeine content, the moderate dosage will help in aerobic activities like running if taken during the recommended time before. The box suggests you mix one packet with 8oz of water, but I normally just pour a packet in a water bottle and shake it up. The powder itself doesn’t smell that great, it has an orange-yellow color similar to the chews, and it looks a lot like Sunny-D. Once the powder’s been mixed in the water, it doesn’t smell as bad. As for the taste, it’s quite good; especially for a sugar free drink. Like the packaging suggests, it’s orange flavored, and while it’s a tad bitter, it tastes a lot like Sunny-D too. As with any health/energy drink, the FRS diet orange drink mix comes with your favorite vitamins, such as Vitamins A, C, E, B6, and B12. It also comes with 250mg of the anti-oxidant Quercetin. Overall, I’d say the FRS Drink Mix is worth it, it gives a sufficient boost for strenuous activities, and for free, it’s certainly worth a try!

FRS Lemon Lime Energy Chews

FRS Health Energy Lemon Lime ChewsToday we’ll start off with the first of four FRS Healthy Energy Products, the Energy Chews. The chews come in a resalable bag of 30, and each chew is individually wrapped. With 20mg of caffeine per piece, these energy chews are obviously weaker than the Buzz Bites, but the FRS products are marketed as energy for workouts ad exercise, not for high caffeine content. Nevertheless, these chews contain caffeine and deserve a spot on CaffeineGuru. When I opened the bag of these chews, an amazing aroma of lemon-lime overcame me. The actual smell of the chew alone is a little less ambrosial, but it still isn’t bad. The taste of the chew is a little weaker than the smell, a tad sour (form the caffeine and vitamins), with a hint of lemon-lime, and the texture is a little on the gritty side. Overall, it isn’t bad though, while the caffeine content is low, it still provides a small kick, and claims to provide essential nutrients such as quercitin and vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C and E. The small size of the chews makes it easy and convenient to get a boost of energy on the go, or for a workout. If you’re interested, you can get them and the other FRS products for free (well almost free, as there’s a shipping charge) here and try them out for yourself.

Redline Ultimate Energy and Power Rush

Redline Today we have a double review. Redline Energy is a drink that comes in an 8oz bottle and a 2.5oz energy shot. Both of the bottles are berry flavored and come in a blue bottle with a screw on cap.
Starting with the energy shot, this variant of Redline comes in the 2.5oz bottle and contains 350mg of caffeine per bottle, which is quite a lot! The bottle suggests only 1/2, or 1/4 at a time, as to avoid over stimulation. Because I’m checking out two drinks today, I think I’ll follow their advice. The Redline Energy shot smells fruity and ‘exotic’ just as the bottle advertises. The taste is pretty good at first, but after a few seconds, it becomes extremely sour, as there’s no sugar in this. The bitterness will go straight for your cheeks and cause a soft of an involuntary puckering. While the taste leaves a bit to be desired, the kick is worth the flavor. Redline Power Rush! also contains 2083% of your daily B12 (per serving, so double that if you have the whole thing). The nice thing about the Power Rush! is that there’s no sugar so there’s no crash after the energy boost.
Moving on to the Redline Triple Berry Ultimate Energy Rush (that’s quite a mouthful). After I opened this, I realized it smells just like the Power Rush!, but smells sweeter. Lo and behold, this drink is a lot less bitter than the other power shot. While this one is sweeter, and less bitter, there is still a small hint of bitterness that will make you pucker just a little. Once again however, there is a trade off; the Triple Berry Redline contains only 250mg of caffeine per bottle, 100mg less than the power shot, even though the Triple berry is 3x the size. The kick of Redline Energy Rush is still good though, as 250mg is still a hefty amount of caffeine.
Both of these products are worth it, while I don’t like the bitterness them, there’s not much else that can be done with their low sugar content and high concentration of caffeine. Both are worth it though if you need a quick boost during the day.
